7th Grade Classes
Each student's class schedule will include four core academic classes, a Unified Arts class, either PE or a foreign language, and a guided study hall called SOAR time.
Core Academic Classes: Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, and Science are full year classes. These classes are all held "on team," within the Bradbury wing of AMS. Unified Arts Classes: Bradbury students will take Informational Literacy class in the first trimester, Family & Consumer Science (FACS) in second trimester, and Tech Lab in third trimester. These classes take place in other parts of the school, otherwise known as "off team." PE/Foreign Language: Each student will take a 1/2 year (one semester) of PE and a foreign language, either Spanish or French. Foreign language classes are introductory, and explore language and culture. The Spanish room is in the Bradbury wing, while French and PE take place off team. In 2019-20, all Bradbury students will all take PE in semester #1, and a foreign language in semester #2. |
Understanding Your Grades
Here is a direct link to AMS's grading guidelines.
Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns about grades. Some students will tell parents that they don't have homework, but most of the time they will. Check Powerschool for details about assignments. Please don't hesitate to ask if you get stuck or need clarification about an assignment. It's so important to maintain open lines of communication between home and school!

How can parents help?
1. Attendance is critical - students who miss class time miss the opportunity to gain information, complete assignments, and participate in class discussions.
2. Help your teen be prepared and ready to learn - enough sleep, bag ready, laptop charged, and parents asking about their learning.
3. Your interest matters to your child! - ask about their learning, talk about the importance of school and learning, doing your best, and showing core values.
